Petroleum Exploration in the Upper Sepik River Region of Papua New Guinea in the 1950s

Sep Paterson is Alex Paterson's father.  Linked below is the text of a talk given by Sep to members of the Merimbula Bowls Club on or about 2005.  The subject of his talk was an account of his experiences associated with petroleum exploration in the Upper Sepik River Region of Papua New Guinea from 1953 through to 1958.  The document includes some photos scanned from photographic slides taken by Sep at the time.

After leaving New Guinea in 1958 Sep Paterson took up a position as a geologist with the 'Hydro Electric Commission' (HEC) of Tasmania.
